“Heaven is kinda like parenting on a good day.”
I came across this quote shared by a fellow parent, and it got me thinking.
- To someone running from their devils, that run might be hell.
- To a laborer dreading the work, the next brick might be hell.
- To a healthcare worker drowning in covid cases, the next test might be hell.
- To someone who can’t stand kids, the seat next to one on a plane might be hell.
- To a runner coming back from injury, that run might be heaven.
- To a bricklayer building his own home, the next brick might be heaven.
- To a doctor who still loves the work, the next patient might be heaven.
- To a parent, the seat next to your kid, where you can teach them a lesson about resilience, might be heaven.
Maybe heaven and hell are less about what we’re doing, and more about why.
